The beginning of the electrification of flight
We are delighted to share the news that we are supplying to Vertical Aerospace for the brand new VX4 project – a globally-certified, zero carbon footprint eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft. We were lucky enough to see the impressive protoype in person at Farnborough International Airshow 2022.
Faster, quieter, greener, cheaper
Founded in 2016 by Stephen Fitzpatrick to create the most advanced eVTOL in the world, the VX4 is going to open up urban air mobility to a whole range of passengers and transform how we travel. The VX4 will reach speeds over 200mph, will be near silent when in flight, emit zero emissions and have a low cost per passenger mile. The prototype is being prepared for its first flight, having already begun ground tests.
At a glance…
100x quieter than a helicopter at cruise
1MW electric
100+ mile range
0 emissions
5 people capacity
202mph top speed
